a multi-touch portfolio installation

moleculemt is a multi-touch portfolio installation consisting of a multi-touch input capable hardware and a multi-user portfolio software application. It was especially developed and created for the exhibition »Von hier nach dort. 10 Jahre Informationsdesign an der FH Joanneum Graz« (»From here to there. 10 years of Information Design at the University of Applied Sciences FH Joanneum Graz«) which took place in Graz, Austria from January 27th till February 8th 2009.

Central task of the installation for the anniversary exhibition was to communicate the variety and diversity of design projects to the visitors. This was achieved by letting multiple users browse through a pool of selected student projects which had been analysed for their containing design disciplines and are connected by those. Image, text and time based media can be viewed by the user to communicate each project’s content. Also, a multi-touch table suitable for exhibition purposes was built using an optical tracking solution.
