Redesigning the Arduino Icon

Redesigning the Arduino Icon

We developed the new icon and the »about us…« page for the Arduino IDE (release notes for 0017) based on the design of the redesigned Processing 1.0 IDE. This requested was posted at the official issue section for Arduino at Google Code. You have to know that the Arduino software is based on the code of Processing, so we created an icon which should aesthetical connect both icons and make them look like brother and sister. The new design uses the points and lines from the surface of the board as a design element. We decided to take the background color  from a picture of the Arduino Diecimila board to make it fit 100%.

If you want to know some more about the design versions, you have to check our blog entry about the redesign.

The icon was relased under Creative Commons 3.0 BY-SA by Thomas Gläser (envis precisely) and can be downloaded as .png (512 x 512 px) at Wiki Commons.
