—– The Mill —–
The Mill are a large scale visual FX team coming out of London, New York and Los Angeles. They were responsible for closing the festival this year and they did so with a nice group presentation focusing primarily on their post production work they did for Nike on ‘Write the Future’. An advertisement spot that notably took the Internet by storm at the beginning of the this years World Cup.

They went on discussing the ‘making of’ and did a nice job of showing alot of the thought and design process. Storyboards, to the use of the massive tool used for realising large scale crowd environments alongside the VFX they covered throughout such an enormous project. They called it the biggest VFX advertisement ever made. Funny enough i believe them.

Lost in Madrid and more…

Thanks to the big ashcloud coming from this vulcano with that extraordinary name my flight to Munich was cancelled today. The flights for tomorrow haven‘t been delayed yet, but you never know. The alternate transportation could be by bus. 20 hours from Madrid to Munich? We will see…
We uploaded some »behind the scenes« pictures of Campus Party Madrid to flickr. Some official pictures and video will be uploaded after we arrived back at Munich someday…
Countdown to Madrid
On Tuesday, the 13th, we will pack our bags and fly to Campus Party, the worlds biggest lan-party and electronic entertainment event. At Campus Futuro, an area for new technology and innovation, we will present two installations.
First, this will be the world premier of a new installation of ours called Quasar Interactive. It is based upon the visual synthesizer Quasar and adds – you guessed it – interactivity! Together with Gold Productions a.k.a. Meduino we created three interactive spheres which are used as input devices for realtime sound and graphic manipulation. The picture is showing the Quasar board which is based on the Arduino platform containing an accelerometer and ports for LEDs. Further information will be published the next days…

The other installation is our well-known Earthwalk, which was realised together with Jens Franke. For this year it was little bit optimized, replacing a hacked keyboard by Pokey55T, a USB keyboard simulator board.
Making of: Zentrum Neue Technologien
Barely a week has passed since the Deutsche Museum opened up the gates to our latest project, the brand new ZNT (Center for New Technologies). This week the Museum published this »Making of« Clip. Can you imagine that it looked quite like that one week before the opening? With a hundred of willing hands working there and some serious sleep deprivation the exhibition could open in time.
Out of office ;)
While you are reading this culmination of words, we are heading to Linz, checking out the ARS ELECTRONICA FESTIVAL. We will provide you with more information, after this short break…
