I stumbled upon this little generative graphic for the UN climate change conference in Copenhagen (COP15) that took place in late 2009. It was art director and designed by Mikkel Koser of ‘okdeluxe‘

The design process was partnered with both ‘shiftcontrol’ and ‘nr2154‘. The three joined forces to produce the overall identity and outlook for the conference.

Okdeluxe had this to say…”Our approach was to generate the logo based on dynamic, generative patterns governed by rules like flocking and force fields. We wanted to express the complex decisions and negotiations going on at the conference.”

Apparently they used a custom based animation software that allows you to input multiple configurations via its control panel. Im not sure if the software has been produced in house, would be very interesting to find out more about it?
