Nominated for »Designpreis Deutschland 2010«
My former project partner Jens Franke (right) and me (left) are nominated for this years Design Award of the Federal Republic Germany. This Award is the country‘s highest distinction in the field of design. It is known as the »Prize of Prizes«. The reason: no other design award sets such strict criteria on entries. We were nominated by the Bavarian Ministry of State for Economics and Technology which is one of the preconditions for the price. At the end of November we expect a result from the judges. The winner will receive price money and gets the possibility to show some projects at the exhibition Ambiente at Frankfurt. We’ll keep our fingers crossed…
envis is going academic! (part 2)
Not long ago, we announced that I will be holding two classes at HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd in the coming term. Now we couldn’t be happier to confirm that Markus and I will also be lecturing at the FH Joanneum in Graz – the very university we both graduated from.
There will be one evening lecture and a two day workshop. Both are titled »Code = Design«, meaning that we will explore the variety of ways in which programmed patterns can enhance, facilitate or just speed up different kinds of design processes. We’re going to talk about generative design for screen, print and installations as well as about prototyping and hacking. For details have a look at our Flyer.
While the workshop is specifically targeted to students in their first term, the lecture will be open to anyone including non students. So if you are around Graz on October 16, make sure to drop by at Alte Poststraße 152 – it’s free! Lecture will start at 18:15, so be punctually.
Chemieraum at ACM digital library
The official paper of the chemieraum project can be downloaded at the famous ACM digital library. The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), was founded in 1947 as the world’s first scientific and educational computing society. The digital library holds up to 70% percent of all papers which are relevant for research projects in the field of Interaction Design.
Thanks to the haptICS research group (MA Götz Wintergerst & MA Ron Jagodzinski) and the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd for the help.
Envis with major upgrade… we are 3 together now

This week we officially announce the expansion of our team. Markus Jaritz (left) joined the envis precisely GbR. Thomas Gläser (middle) and Philipp E. Sackl (right) expect more flexibility and speed to complete future projects. Additionally the process of decision making will be easier with three people.
Envis artwork at susn.cc
You might remember our early blog entry about the collaborative artwork webproject called susn.cc. Finally we managed it to get our reserved place filled. Our 300 x 300 pixel graphic features the teddy bear from the conrad electronics ad which is followed by many evil fighter jets spraying colorful smoke while a little Elvis Presley is singing his song and Air Envis Precisely is rushing by. Holy moly!
