Speaking at RIA World

The RIA World conference will take place in Munich on November the 10th and 11th – and I will be there as a speaker. I am still working on the talk, but in general, it will be about the evolution of what is called »Rich Internet Applications«. Once they were the little brother of desktop applications. Today they are becoming more and more powerful and have already started to reach many kinds of devices like desktops, mobile phones and TV sets.
I’ll try to link concepts that are usually considered to belong to the domain of interaction design or installation design to the realm of internet applications.
We’re looking for Interns!
Yep, that’s right – we’re on the lookout for talented designers, programmers and/or artists to support our team starting this september.
If you’re a student of interaction design, information design, media art or a related field, we’d love to hear from you.
> Developer Objective-C (iPhone)
Specifically we’re looking for digital designers with the will and the skills to make design happen rather than just talk about it. You will be working on things like interactive installation, interfaces and mobile applications. We are design studio which will give you the chance to work in every step of the creation process from first concept to final production.
Most of our projects involve a fair amount of programming work, so it’s important that you know how to create functioning prototypes yourself no matter if you prefer flash, processing, vvvv and/or arduino as your favourite tool.
If you are interested, just send an email with a link to your portfolio to jobs@envis-precisely.com
P.S. If you want more information on how it feels to be an intern at envis precisely, you can of course ask our current interns Stefan and Patricia.
Interview in HITSPAPER
I’ve recently been interviewed by Arata Sasaki from the Japanese Hitspaper. We talked about our projects, our design process and our views on the world as designers in general. Make sure to check out the whole piece here! It’s in English and Japanese.
Our very first iPhone App: iScraper!
Hey kids! Your new favorite app has arrived at Apples App Store! We call it iScraper and it is our first submission to the store.
So, what does it do, you ask? iScraper is a fun little application that lets you view the worlds ten tallest buildings in a fascinating new way. Just move your device up to see the top of a building. Move it back down to return to the ground. Then just tilt your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad in order to switch to the next image.
You can get it now for free on the App Store.
Making of: Zentrum Neue Technologien
Barely a week has passed since the Deutsche Museum opened up the gates to our latest project, the brand new ZNT (Center for New Technologies). This week the Museum published this »Making of« Clip. Can you imagine that it looked quite like that one week before the opening? With a hundred of willing hands working there and some serious sleep deprivation the exhibition could open in time.
